![]() Another must-see attraction is the Alcatraz Island. Which was completed in 1854, but since then has been expanded and modified. The purpose of the building was to house soldiers to guard the dock. The building was bomb-proof with walls 10 foot thick. Alcatraz became a federal prison in 1934, and also an infamous island of history.

The most popular attraction for visitors has lately been the Golden Gate Bridge, its length is about 8,981 feet total, the towers are approximately 746 feet from the water below. During construction, the city placed a net under the bridge for the protection of the workers, which saved the lives of 19 men, who are known as the "Half Way to Hell Club" (LEFT)
